The Next Destinies expansion set was released in February 2012 and contains 103 cards (if you count the 4 secret rares). Next Destinies is the first set in the Black and White Series to feature Pokemon EX… powerful Pokemon with extra “EX” attack capabilities. Don’t let your Pokemon EX get beat though… when a Pokemon EX is defeated your opponent takes 2 prize cards instead of one.

The Noble Victories expansion set was released in November 2011 and contains 102 cards (including the 1 secret rare Meowth 102/101 card). This set features the return of Fossil Pokemon and Tool cards. There are 5 ultra rare full art cards to collect, my favorite being the card simply called “N”… card number 101/101… my favorite version of N the trainer.

The Pokemon Black & White Trainer Kit was released in September 2011, a bit late for the 2011 World Championships held a month earlier on August 3rd. The set contains 60 cards total… 30 in the Excadrill half deck and 30 in the Zoroark half deck. There are 2 set symbols for this set… one for Excadrill and one for Zoroark. None of the cards in the set have a rarity symobl. The Black & White Trainer Kit came with a rule book, a playmat, damage and status counters, a coin, and a booster pack, and a deck box. It also came with a Trainer Kit Guide that shows you how to play a sample match.

The Emerging Powers expansion set was released in August 2011 and contains 98 cards. It’s the first set in the Black and White Series to not include secret rare cards… it’s also the first set to feature reverse holofoil cards.

The Black & White Promos, also known as the “BW Black Star Promos”, expansion set was released in April 2011 and contains 101 cards. All cards in this set have the “BW” prefix appended to the card number. Promo cards are released in multi-pack blisters, tins, given out at tournaments, given to staff, etc.
