The Pokemon Aquapolis set was released in January 2003 and contains 182 cards… 147 in the base set, plus 32 “H” numbered holographic cards, plus 3 secret rare cards. There are several cards that have “a” and “b” versions… the card designs look the same but contain different data in the Dot-Code strip.

Legendary Collection Set List

The Pokemon Legendary Collection set was released in May 2002, and only in the US… not Japan. The set contains 110 cards and is mostly made up of cards from previous sets, carefully selected so players could build “tournament decks”. The Legendary Collection set was also the first set to introduce reverse holographic cards, something that continues to this day.

Neo Destiny Set List

The Pokemon Neo Destiny set was released in February 2002 and contains 113 cards… 105 in the base set, plus 8 secret shining rare cards. The shining Pokemon cards have a new holographic metallic look with a plain frame.

Neo Revelation Set List

The Pokemon Neo Revelation set was released in September 2001 and contains 66 cards… 64 in the base set, plus 2 secret shining rare cards. Neo Revelation is the first set to feature Shining Pokemon… rare and valuable cards with the special ability to use multiple energy types.

Southern Islands

The Pokemon Southern Islands set was released July 2001… the English version anyway… the Japanese version was released 2 years earlier in July of 1999. The English cards have the Neo design so they get lumped in with the Neo Series… but this is an odd set with only 18 cards. The set is centered around two islands: Rainbow Island and Tropical Island. None of the cards have a rarity symbol… the Japanese set doesn’t even have card numbers!
