The POP Series 4 set was released at the Pokemon TCG World Championship in August 2006. The set contains 17 cards (plus 7 holographic variations). In the past the holographic versions were reserved for rare cards, but this set featured common cards like Mudkip, Pikachu, Wobbuffet and an uncommon Combusken in holographic form.

POP Series 5

The POP Series 5 set was released for the Pokemon Organized Play Program in March 2007. The set contains 17 cards (plus 6 holographic variations)… two of which are rare holo star cards, Espeon 16/17 and Umbreon 17/17. These gold star holo cards are extremely rare and valuable.

POP Series 6

POP Series 6 was the first set to feature cards from the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released in September 2007 for the Pokemon Organized Play Program and contains 17 cards (plus 7 holographic variations). Supposedly a production error resulted in each booster pack containing one rare card.

POP Series 7

POP Series 7 was released in March 2008 a Pokemon Organized Play tournaments. It features 17 cards from the Diamond & Pearl series, including 6 additional holographic versions. This set also features a banned card… Wormadam Sandy Cloak 10/17 was banned from use at the 2008 North American Professor Cup tournament.

POP Series 8

The POP Series 8 set was released in September 2008. It’s the 3rd POP set in the Diamond & Pearl series. Unlike previous POP sets, Series 8 contained 17 additional holographic versions, making this the biggest POP set to date. It also came in 3 card packs, as opposed to 2 card packs… with 1 card being an energy.

POP Series 9

The POP Series 9 set was released in September 2008 at Pokemon Organized Play tournaments and contains 17 cards plus 5 holo variations. This set is unique in that it includes no trainer Pokemon, and all the cards in POP Series 9 are new… not reprints… with the exception of Gible 14/17. Cards from this set came in 3 card booster packs… 2 Pokemon and 1 Energy card.
